When I was at work on Monday, I slipped while riding my bike and broke my ankle in 3 places. This has reduced me to being unable to walk unassisted for 6 weeks, and not being able to run for 3 months. I&#8217;m a very active person who likes to do some sort of physical activity every day, so this has been a hard adjustment to make! It actually hasn&#8217;t been so bad thus far, as I was in hospital with good pain medication for a few days. There is a weird and bizarre kind of novelty in it still, although I am sure that will shortly wear off. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In general it has not been the best week of luck for me. Last week I was attempting to get my citation software, EndNote, to sync between my laptop and desktop. I&#8217;d been using this system for months, or at least I thought I had, as checking the logs revealed that the last sync had happened in August&#8230; what was going on? I attempted to fix it and ended up with a deleted library, which means I have to start somewhat over &#8211; fortunately I still have the library on my laptop, but it is slightly behind. I&#8217;m going to move to Zotero, because I have never actually heard anything bad about it other than that it doesn&#8217;t look as nice as EndNote. Zotero also has many plug-ins and better functionality with the writing software I use, Zettlr. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While I am not looking forward to being unable to walk for a long period of time, I am still hoping to spend my time mindfully and surrounded by loved ones. My partner, Amelie, and I were meant to go on a road trip this week which is sadly postponed. It is hard not to feel some sense of loss over this, as it was set to be a really great trip taking three weeks through some of Australia&#8217;s best beaches and an opportunity to see my family. These plans have changed somewhat, though I hope to see my family once my leg has healed a bit more.
